    Default Paph. Black Rook

    Good morning from Austin!

I have a Paph. Black Rook that is in spike. This is my first Paph that is going to bloom, and I was wondering...Do I need to face the bloom towards the light source so it will be in the correct juxtaposition to the leaves?

In other words, does the face of the bloom move towards its light source?

hi chisa. I would leave the plant in the position in which the spike developed . If it's in early spike, or later, with care you should be able to stake it into the position that suits you.

Face the bud toward the light, and don't stake it until the flower is fully open. If you stake it sooner the stem will twist and the bud/flower will try to face downward. But after it is 'set' you can stake it and it won't change much.

Thanks, PMM. I will go take the clip/stake off right now. I did face it towards the light yesterday.
