Paphiopedilum Blooms

Hello everyone,

I am not familiar with how the blooms form on a Paph, but was hoping that someone could take a look and tell me if the pics below are of a single or multiple blooms:

This is a Maudiae type paph and normally has a single bloom, but occasionally two. Yours looks as it it might have two blooms.

Paph. Berenice is a multifloral hybrid. (lowii x philippinense)

I was referring to Paph Black Rook. Yes Paph Berenice is a multifloral and a very beautiful paph it is too.

I love how Paphs look when they are in bud! I recently went to the orchid show in Austin last weekend and was as stunned by the buds as I was by the blooms!

I'd say your Paph Black Rook is going to have two blooms. At least I think I see two buds, one that's opening now and a smaller one that will open at a later stadium. I don't know if both blooms will be open at the same time, or one after the other though.

Definitely a second bud on the Black Rook, but sometimes a bud like that doesn't develop beyond this stage. If it keeps growing at this point you will get a second flower.
