Renanthera storiei care issues

I am new to orchids and picked up a Renanthera storiei about a year ago, since then it really hasn't done much. It started to grow new roots and I got excited but now I think it has some sort of disease. I removed the most damage leaves and now I am left this the other below. They are developing yellow dots which turn brown. It has never grown new leaves, so I am concerned that its going to slowly die. Any tips or ideas of whats going on would be great. A little back ground, I live in south Florida, water and fertilize reguly. I also dusted the plant with cinnamon thinking it could be fungus.

I know the pictures are not that great but its the yellow dots on the leaves at the end of the leaf shown slightly better in picture 1. They seem to appear randomly on leaves and over time they turn brown. I am at a loss of what they can be and caused by.

I have only one renanthera it's a Tom Thumb. Mine requires as much warmth as you can give it and plenty of water and not much fertiliser. When it flowers the spike is nearly a metre long and had over fifty red flowers with yellow dots.

Yew apart from a Kalsom that loosing lower leaves but still flowers i have always found Renantheras easy to grow..full sun..daily watering..high humidity..occasional fertilizers...please explain why storiei is difficult...i have also coccinea and philippinense x Kalsom & philippinense x Kalsom 'Mutate', from all seem to be growing well and floriferous

where exactly is this plant being grown?? because it looks very dry and also leaves look pleated...signs of dehydration..needs high humidity and air movement...water daily but do not keep wet at the roots and also i wud take it out of that pot and check d base for rot travelling up d stem...if it is present then cut until u see healthy tissue and dust with cinnamon....den plant in coarse charcoal and crock& if at all possible tie to a wooden stake in a pot...being against something helps it to root

South Florida should do this species well. Give it high light, water often. It gets treated like a Vanda...doesn't really need a pot as long as it's roots are watered often.

I have 2 renantheras, I treat like vandas, I agree with King that it looks dry, did you move into higher light recently?

I should have said the 'species' Ren storei has been a difficult plant for me to grow.The storei hybrids (some of which you have mentioned), with a few exceptions, are quite easy to grow.In my more than 50 years of growing orchids I have grown Renanthera hybrids and Renanthera intergenerics and these include Aranthera, various Renanthera,Renantanda, Renanopsis, Renanstylis , Renanthopsis and Kagawaara at various times. Most of them have been easy to grow and bloom. The more challenging ones are Renanthopsis (very few have been made) and Ren Brookie Chandler, Ren Nancy Chandler. Most renanthera hybrids today are produced here in Malaysia and Singapore, though Thailand is fast catching up. In our equatorial climate we find they do best under 50% shade from 11.00am to late afternoon. Among the most attractive Renanthera hybrids IMHO are Renanopsis Lena Rowold (Ren storei x Vandopsis lissochiloides) and Rnps Cape Sable (Rnps Lena Rowold x storei). There are 2 varieties of Rnps Lena Rowold, the giant variety that bloom a t 5-7 feet; and the dwarf form that bloom at only a foot tall.The latter is made using a dwarf and more warmth tolerant storei.Maybe I have been unfortunate in not being able to get the dwarf variety of storei which was in great demand for hybridising.Currently i have about 10 Renanthera and Ren intergenerics but no storei. For sme perverse reason I still keep a Ren Nancy Chandler x storei that has never bloomed for me during the 15 or more years it has been with me. Most likely it will remain recalcitrant until the day I exit this earth and even beyond that.

Hi, Thanks for all the advice. I know the picture was not the best so I took another and I think it better shows whats going on...
Any ideas?
