I wish I had better luck with the nobiles, in my care, they survive, but do not thrive.
I have a few wimpy ones that I've been nursing along, one even has a bud on it, yes, just one lonely little bud.
Well, at least fingers crossed I'll finally get to see what color she is . . . yet another rescue case, with NOID of course.

Very pretty nobile, Tanya! I always kick myself trying to buy one of these glowing purple nobiles but somehow always procrastinate.
Most nobile dendrobiums require a bit of coolish condition to grow well and bloom since their ancestors are from the Himalaya. Too hot or too cold might not do the trick. Lately people from Hawaii are trying to breed the heat tolerance into these nobiles. So some of newer hybrids might do better in the home or the greenhouse and they don't require a drop in the temperature in order to bloom.
