Recieved this Oncidium " Dancing Lady " its out of bloom and has been neglected. I have a few questions that I need your expertise on.
1) Does the bulbs look like they are too wrinkled? Is this a concern because the leaves are fantastic and show no sign of die back.
The pbulbs do not look too wrinkled and it is quite normal.
2) I split the rhizome in half one half has a few backbulbs - will this send up a new bulb or has the energy been spent already on the other half?
There is a good chance that both parts will start a new growth
3) The half with the newest p.buld does not seem to show any sign of a new p.bulb coming again is this a concern?
It's not a concern that the front section is not showing a new growth- give it time.
4) When it comes to culture I heard that Oncidium like pleanty of water is this true or shall i let the mix dry out completely before next watering?
Let the mix dry out almost completely between watering with these. They love bright light, grow under about 50% shade here in NZ and give very good air movement. As you have two plants, pot into the smallest possible pots (use #2 bark, there are some places that sell it- but not garden centers or the like).Mist about twice dayly at this time of year ,as you have no live roots. When new roots do start do not be in a rush to water, and feed very weak about once per week. Also there is not a lot of growing season left, maybe abot 6-8 weeks
