For fragrance it is difficult to resist the chocolate-scented fragrance of Sharry Baby. I like this clone due to the spikes are not spindly like most other clones I see.

One day I shall her... lovely spikes Ron! Speaking of which, how do you coerce a plant into multiple spikes?
I don't, just happens, Guess they are happy. This one goes out for the summer and is in front of a west slidding door for the winter
Ah "Stinky Baby", LOL! A number of my friends in my old os referred to all Sharry Babies as such. One well blooming plant either outdoors or in a large well ventilated space is fine. However, if one is driving an hour or more to a winter show with the same large well blooming plant in a car/SUV/van? Then, as my friends opined, the fragrance quickly becomes overpowering -- and not in anything close to a good way... not unlike being stuck in an elevator with several people who are wearing far far too much perfume/colonge.
Nice looking plant there, Ron! You mentioned the spikes not being "spindly" ... so does this mean you did not need to stake the spikes?
Oh! I have a Sharry Baby I just got recently. How much moisture/water does it like? I think mine looks a bit thirsty and I so want it to bloom! I'd love any information about how to grow it.

Just lovely Ron-NY. I will be interested in your info re watering etc, before I buy one.![]()
This is a very nice Sharry Baby clone you have Ron I love the color and the compactness of the flower stalk. Nicely grown!!
Nicely grown. I overheard an interesting argument between 2 orchid vendors at the last show I went to, regarding whether Sharry Baby really is chocolate-scented, or have people simply bought into the suggestion. I've smelled some that were more purplish-bloomed than yours, Ron that had a scent I actually prefer to chocolate - can't describe it, of course....
A very nice clone Ron.
