Also, I've found that when phals are developing buds, they need increased water to give the buds enough moisture to develop into flowers. Make sure your plant is getting enough light, and be a bit more generous with your watering. I've noticed a direct correlation between the amount of water I give a plant and the amount of buds that make it to maturity.
Also, the heat can DEFINITELY cause a problem by drying out the surrounding air. When I have a phal that's having a rough time trying to flower, I will often put the original clay pot inside a larger ceramic pot to help hold humidity around the plant. It did WONDERS for my Phal schilleriana, which was chugging along happily and then suddenly started blasting buds. I put the clay pot inside an outer pot, watered the plant more frequently and increased the amount of light it was getting, and I was able to save the remaining buds on the plant that way.
Anyway, those are just a couple of easy tricks to help save the buds. Good luck, and post a pic if you can!![]()
