This year I have had crazy growth since the installation. That added to a fertilizer trial which has also helped. Crazy growth is 2 leads from a single psudobulb and dens growing 40% taller and double spiking.

The Catts have now had the humidity lowered leading into Winter and they are spiking like crazy.
That sounds like a system to envy, for sure!! When I finally do get a greenhouse (somewhere, over the rainbow....) I will put in a misting system, because in that type of environment the humidity can be contained and the misting is actually effective.

Unfortunately I don't think most of us are so lucky, and I believe the debate here is mostly for us non-greenhouse growers, who would quickly sprain limbs trying to replicate your orchids' luxury accommodations! I can just picture myself running through the house like a tweaked out chihuahua, frantically spraying plants every couple of seconds and freaking out when it was time to refill the bottle because someone would mist their misting session that round.

Unfortunately, short of doing something that crazy, I don't think misting with a hand sprayer in my house is going to do me much good. But I will definitely refer back to this thread when I get my greenhouse!! It sounds like your orchids are living in orchid heaven (and by orchid heaven, I don't mean the place my orchids go when they die... LOL)

I definitely envy your setup. Is something like that ridiculously expensive and involved to set up? Or is it more a matter of just hooking misters to timers? (Just planning ahead here...)

Please share some pics of the gorgeous blooms you get when all those spiking plants finally put on their show! I imagine it will be GLORIOUS!

Good for you!!
