Oscar, my cat, turns 4!

He was a rescue, showing up at my door at about 5 weeks old and emaciated.
I finally got him to eat cat food and eventually brought him inside and gave him veterinary care. He's turned into a good cat but is a little "wilder" than the average house cat, owing to his background. At times he is very affectionate, but sometimes not.

Happy birthday Oscar! Such a pretty kitty. On the last Thanksgiving day our new kitty found us. She was a tiny, black kitten who somehow ended up on my parents back porch. My folks have dogs that kill anything that comes within the yard - but somehow this tiny kitten made it across the entire yard and was able to hide in some stuff they were packing up to take to goodwill. LJA heard the kitten crying and I dug her out. She is now so spoiled and an Arkansas resident. All of my pets are rescues - even the one beta fish in my aquarium. I think it is always the right thing to do. Good for you, Chris. Again, happy birthday to Oscar.

Actually, he showed up at the right time. My previous cat developed cancer and had to be put down about 4 months earlier, and I wasn't sure I was ready for another cat, at least not yet. But these things have a way of working out on their own. Life is what happens to you while you're making other plans, as the song says.
