Nice. No fragrance ? That's very unusual.
What a beauty! Usually, if mine say they have scent and I do not detect any; I check at various times of day. Sometimes they only put out their scent at night, some in the early morning and some lovely plants give off their scent during the daytime hours. With or without scent though, yours is lovely!
Beautiful posies there!
Perhaps, for whatever reason, you are simply unable to detect the scent. Have you had anyone else give the Rhyc a sniff?
Most scented orchids ( actually, all scented orchids, maybe all scented flowers ! ) are not scented 24/7. Producing scent is very energy expensive for a plant, so it only produces it at times when it "expects" and "wants" its pollinator to call in. Thus, white flowers, usually pollinated by night flying insects, e.g.moths, only produce secnt at night. Some only when they sense moonlight, and so on.
I think you just sniffed your lovely plant at the wrong time. Keep trying !
thanks everyone for your responses, I haved checked for scent morning, noon and night and detect nothing, I have a very keen nose for fragrance and can pick up the slightest scent but not even a light floral smell. I have noticed some orchids are not at their fragrant best until they are open for awhile, I'll keep sniffing.
That is odd that you cannot smell the fragrance. Maybe as it ages a bit? Beautiful blooms regardless! Bravo!
cheers,
