Most scented orchids ( actually, all scented orchids, maybe all scented flowers ! ) are not scented 24/7. Producing scent is very energy expensive for a plant, so it only produces it at times when it "expects" and "wants" its pollinator to call in. Thus, white flowers, usually pollinated by night flying insects, e.g.moths, only produce secnt at night. Some only when they sense moonlight, and so on.Originally Posted by stateless
