Haraella retrocalla (odorata )

Hi , RS it is in the house / plant area hanging up , nothing special , done with it . I feed the same as the others . RO. or rain water the rest of the time . another neat one is the schoenorchis fragrans , it grows in a mat a really small plant , also the leptotes bicolor the last 2 are in the same area as he haraella a little more light . both of those are mounted on a cactus skeleton . Hi,

Im new to the hobby and to the board. I just aquired the cutest little Haraella odorata. I am very happy.

Anyway, I put it in a vivarium hanging from a suction cup, the stick came with a hanger, so I hung to a suction cup.
Its under 1 40watt 3 foot strip light in 80% + humidity and at around 70-77 degrees farenheit. It gets light from 9 am to 6 pm.
Are these good conditions for this plant? Its not in bloom, what can I do to help it along?

Hi , Right now it is in the green house , prior it was in the house , no special treatment , in the house it was in bloom all the time but stopped when I moved it , I think it is because it is cooler in the green house . I am going to bring it back into the house until the weather warms up . Thanks for looking . Gin

Hi I need help

My Haraella odorata is about to flower, the flower bud is getting real big but it has a dark spot on the bottom part. Is this normal? Is it rotting ?
Please let me know If this is normal. Im gonna be soooooooooooo p'd off if its rotting! I take a pic later. thanks.

Hi ,the flower does have a dark lip could that be what you are seeing ? If it something else not a lot you can do . Post a picture if you can ,that would help . Gin

I don't know this species at all, but that definitely looks like pigment and not rot to me!

You should be fine. Please post photos when the colorful baby blooms!

Hi Gin,
Do you still have this guy? Has it grown a lot since this post? I have one and it recently put out 2 spikes that were just getting longer all the time, but now finally I see a bud on one. I wondered if I needed to hike up light levels to make the bud differentiate- what the plant was needing to starting blooming already. While I was researching this, I saw your beautiful plant and this post. Do you still have it on a bird suet feeder stuffed w sphag? That seems like a v creative idea and I was wondering how I might adopt it...
Also wondered how big this plant could get after a few years in home cultivation.
