As children we liked to tease the geese and make them chase us all over the place, all the while laughing and screaming at the top of our voice. Grandma wasn't amused and used to admonish us. Like you we had all sorts of animals - chickens, ducks, guinea fowls, geese, turkey, pigs; these were all reared for food or to sell off the excess. We even had 2 Bajau (Borneo) ponies just after the War II, the ones used by the Japanese invaders and auctioned off after their surrender. We had to sell them off after 2 years as Grandma didn't like them going into the padi fields and destroying the rice plants. Of there were also the dogs - all 7 of them.
