Default Enc. cordigera var rosea x self

this is one of the few orchids i have bought in flower at a physical shop. there was no leaving the place without one of these. they smell so amazing. not overpowering, but a nice spicy smell that reminds me of cinnamon and allspice. we had a rough start at first, but after a while of fussing i sat it inside a treefern pot one night, thinking i would go get a pot to put it in the next day, and forgot. it soon attached itself, and has been happy ever since. takes very bright light.

realizing the selection we can work with here really fired my passion for orchids, kitty. we have a heck of a lot more than cymbidiums, but not quite the selection they have in florida, but close... the hard part is finding the ones that are known to do well, and some risky experimentation with those not on the list already. like this one. i decided to try a smallish blooming sized one, and now wished i had sprung for a bigger plant!

Lovely. It's not a fussy grower here in Malaysia.

Maybe I should look for encyclia too. I've never seen one for sale in my country.
