Hi, Missk, welcome to the forum! I have the same feeling as Yew - it's probably a phalaneopsis orchid. Don't worry about roots climbing everywhere - the more roots, the better!
You should consider unpotting the orchid to check out the roots that aren't in full view. Anything soft and squishy needs to go. There are some great guides on this forum to repot an orchid, so I won't repeat it here. Just realize that even if this one doesn't make it, everything you learn from it will benefit your next..or next...
