I have Cattleya, Dendrobium, Oncidium, and Neofinetia. I have them all growing in bright, in-direct light. While not under light, they were all in a southern facing room with 12-14 hours of this light. This has been going on for a month. I noticed the other day, that my Neos and my Oncidiums, were getting too washed out, so I moved them to an east facing sun room a week ago. The Oncidiums are recovering their bright green color, the Neos, can't really tell yet--they grow very slowly.

This is a long answer, based on my observations, the Oncidiums and the Neos might prefer less light than Cattleyas. I do not know about Renantheras.
