definitely has luridum and lanceanum in its lineage....to tell you which was cross it is i cannot...lolol...i have splendidum,lanceanum and luridum and finally i have haematochilum in flask now..................i have seen an awarded haematochilum that resembles that almost perfectly except the callous in the colomn is shaped differently...who knows could be straight haematochilum....each clone in a grex could vary considerably

A friend of mine bought a blooming trichocentrum at a local garden last month. It is just like this one. At first we were all puzzled what it really was, cause it looked like an oversized oncidium with very big leaves. The vendor didn't know what it was either and quickly sold it for 200 pesos or around US $4.50.

I have the same, or at least I think it is the same judging by the flowers and other attributes. It is now in bloom and it is the first time in 3 years since it has bloomed. Now I have four spikes and 46 flowers. They are truly beautiful.

Does anyone here know long long the flowers last?

As I am a newbie on this, I have a follow up question, if I may ask. When orchids are in bloom, do I continue to water it as I usually do or do I hold back a bit. I am a bit heavy handed on watering. This orchid is not in medium except charcoal. Replies are appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

I would go with keep doing what you're doing with one that is flowering. I don't hvae a big over watering problem but I have a bad habit of moving budding plants to another location where I think they will do better. Never works!

This is what I did recently - moving them around as the sun has changed its pattern due to the season. Thank you for your reply. I can now better care for this particular orchid.
