yellow leaves w/ black spots

Hi everyone,
Two of my Onc. Sharry Baby leaves are yellow and have black spots, as well. The first leaf began to discolor several days ago then became partially dry. Leaf #2 followed the same pattern shortly afterwards but it hasn't gotten to the point of showing any dry areas yet. Also, it is spiking above the most damaged leaf...approx. 2 1/2'. What do you think the problem is and how should I treat it?

Probably needs more air movement to dry off after watering. Treat with fungicide.

Thanks, Bruce. What fungicide do you suggest? I have never found any fungus or bacteria products for orchids locally, so I would have to order whatever you advise online. Of course, a few days shipping would be involved, so what do you think about applying cinnamon to the leaves now after trimming...or is a systemic necessary for fungus?

Agree with cakedaddy - the Bayer products work well.

If you can, remove the leaves that are obviously goners. It may reduce the number of fungal spores available to start new infections. If cutting tools are needed, sterilize cutting tools before & after use (flame sterilization/cool, or chemically sterilize with a bleach soak & rinse).

I thought the only Bayer product that can be used on orchids is their insecticide for roses, so I learned something new. Thanks.

With the Bayer products, there are a number of products, but one is a 3-in-1 insect, disease & mite control product, it can be used on houseplants. This is one of the Bayer products that includes a fungicide.
