I bought this obviously grafted Yucca from a local BBS, noting that there were some brown spots on the older looking leaves, but overall, it seemed okay, and I was in a rush, so I didn't examine it like I would an orchid.

I brought it home last weekend, watered it, and put it near the sliding glass door, where it receives very bright light most of the day. Today, I decided to trim it up and put it in a better looking cachepot. As I began trimming, I became more and more concerned (read "disgusted") that it was diseased, either insects (scale?) or some kind of fungal or bacterial infection.
It's had a severe haircut, but I don't know if that's sufficient and I don't know what to treat it with and I don't know whether it's too far gone to make it worth it.

I don't know yuccas, so I need input from some of you warmer climate members.

I've taken a bunch of photos, which I hope will help diagnose it. It's already taken up 3 hours of my morning and I'd just as soon return it as spend a lot of time on a lost cause.

Ideas? Reactions?
