Great looking vandas! love all the colors together very nice growing.
Are they on pieces of wood ? And if so, are there any roots clinging to the wood ?
I have good results for many orchids this way, but not vandas, they seem to do just as well completely bare root, but are then difficult to hang up .

Hi Geoff, I actually use tree fern slabs. I find it very effective because it's like you're mimicking their natural environment. Vandas love clinging on to tree trunks and getting nutrients from decaying things on the wood's surface. Also, i think it's also good that the the slabs retain water and moisture for a longer time (especially the fertilizer). when i bought them, their just in their baskets and i started cutting the baskets plastic wall strips just so the roots could easily get out. After that, i attached the fern slabs around and put also some coconut husks inside for longer retention. it's not bad if you give it a try..![]()
Beautiful!
