Yes, I get the occasional blind sheath, though never on this plant. Blind sheaths with me occur from time to time on a few delicate bifoliate species and hybrids; I also nearly always get blind sheaths on some hybrids bought at the London show from a Taiwanese stall. I shall have to throw these away as they are clearly not suited to my growing environment. Europe-raised BLCs never go blind for me. They are as loyal as dogs and I adore them.
