if you think Laelia anceps is bad ,try growing Onc orgyale.Ive got it growing on a 2 meter pole. Its producing its 4th bulb now and is already 1 meter tall

Heres a pic of it at the moment,when I got it 27/12/04 it was bulb and growth.
The growth at the top has grown since xmas and is about to start bulbing.I am hoping that It will spike on this growth.The spike is said to be about 15 ft.The white cross bar at the top of the pic is 45 1/2 inches above the ground.
The plant Oncidium orgyale is in the section Cyrtochilum,and is also known as
Cyrtochilum orgyale.

Taking a photo with the spike will be no real problem,as the trick with these plants is to train the spike around a loop.I have 5 other plants in this section of Oncidium and the smallest ,Cyrtochilum carderi,I can not even find mentioned on the internet.The section as a whole prefer Odontoglossum conditions.

If that is it ,OOHH BOY.
It will be some time befor it flowers as its only 1 mature bulb plus growth at it is maturing now
