New Dendrobium Berry 'Oda'

Friday I bought me this Dendrobium Berry. It has twelve blooming spikes and two more spikes with buds. I have another of these that has become huge, but has refused to bloom. I think I should have given it a dry rest. It has been outside since end of spring so it did become lots of sun, but it also got rain. It has grown tons of keikis so I hope next season if I'm able to give it what it needs to bloom (any tips?), I'll be having a huge amount of flowers.

Wonder splash of pink. awesome. thanks for sharing.How did you fertilize the Dend. that you bought last year. How do the leaves look?. A picture would be helpful. I have read that some the hybrids bloom when they are repotted and an yearly repotting is recommended. not sure where I read this though.

I'll post a picture of it. I think it's in need of repotting and actually I'm planning on doing that as soon as temperatures are a bit higher. I fertilized it with a high N fertilizer, so it grew quite big. The leaves are OK. Just a few with a bit of sunburn, but nothing serious.

Here's the picture of the one I bought last year. As you can see it's grown quite big, but it has refused to bloom. Before the end of March I'll repot it in a clay pot (or would plastic be better?) and hope for flowers next season.

I wonder if this variety likes to be in a tight pot?

Dend Berry is 1/2 kingianum, 1/4 canaliculatum and 1/4 bigibbum. I would say, being 3/4 of the species involve requires a bright dry rest, I would rest it.

I guess I didn't keep it dry enough, or perhaps I started the rest period too late. When would it be a good time to start the rest?

I wonder if this variety likes to be in a tight pot?

I'm planning on repotting it, since it looks as if it hasn't got any medium left.
