I thought I was the only one! My family laughs at me as well when I talk to my plants. Most of the time I'm trying to encourage them to BLOOM!!! I got a Psychopsis mendenhall 'hildos' this last November. It is old enough to bloom, but hasn't yet. So it's one that gets a lot of encouragement from me.

    You bet!

I complement each one for its growth and encourage the ones that are a bit slow.

I also ask if there is anything else I can do for them, but no one has responded yet!

I love that you all talk to your 'chids too. lol I get a kick out of people teasing me about it. And hey, anything that makes my orchids happy is a good thing.

In reading Orchids for Dummies by Steven Frowine, I chuckle when every so often he says "your orchids will tell you when . . . " I say if they are healthy, growing, and blooming whatever you're doing is right, so keep it up! Besides, they are living things - they can respond to stimuli.
