A beauty!
My phal bastianii is about to be open as well. Perhaps this week. I hope it is a nice as yours. Mine has never flowered before as I have not found a spike nub on the plant. It is somewhat smaller than Al's.
Very pretty one - lovely clear markings!
Another wonderful Phal species in your garden AL.
Thanks all. Harvey I'm sure your bastianii will be perfect. AL

A very happy and healthy looking phal. thanks for sharing
I just found my phal bastianii's bud on the ground beneath the spike. I don't know what caused the loss. It looks totally fine except it is now separated from the spike. Another bud is forming so in a month, perhaps I will get to bloom it. I am very disappointed.

Sorry to hear that Harvey. I lost my cattleya amethystoglossa buds yesterday. some insect or squirrel had chewed the buds.
Don't feel to bad Harvey. I knocked one of the two buds off my bastianii last week. Even in Orchid growing Harvey, one way or another the Gods must be appeased! Beats the hell out of human sacrifice don't you think?AL
