I'm fond of white Phals. I had the one in my avatar for 35+ years, I used it in my wedding flowers. I lost it a couple of years back, but now I have another white Phal, much like the one in your post, to replace it. Maybe I will only have one, but I sure like having it! Mine is labelled Phal. Sogo Yukatian, it is a very popular orchid. The picture is from its early bloom, it gets more and more white as it is open longer. Mine is also a rescue, so glad it was labeled! Yours might well be the same one.


I have a white Catt too, but it hasn't bloomed yet. Just waiting, its close.

Hi Carol, 35 years! You must have been terribly attached to it. Did it bloom often? Thank you for the name information.

Your new one does look very much the same, if not identical. Unfortunately my blooms died off soon after getting it home and I wish I'd measured the span of the flowers. Exquisite mouth and lower lip, the center has spider legs like mine too.

My wife brought home a new one today. I think it's a mini-phal. Not expensive, but very pretty and seemingly healthy, but no name label.
