    Good luck on the 'not buying' thing! LOL I haven't even come close to stopping buying them. My local nursery has a buy 2 get one free sale right now and I went and bought 3 on Monday. I have over 20 specimens now!

    I guess I am really becoming an orchid guy when I buy them when they aren't even in flower. 2 of the newest ones do have a spike each and I will post pics when they open.

    I just decided to get rid of my futon in my spare bedroom and put a 4'x4' table with lights in for orchids. I hope to be up and running on it by Dec 14. My grow shop says it should be in by Tues or Thursday. Again, more pics when ready!

    A few years ago we bought some industrial type shelving and a bunch of inexpensive fluorescent lights for starting seeds for our veggie garden. Now that houses orchids most of the year and the veggie seedlings get whatever space I can squeeze out. The East and South windows are full of plants and I'm starting to cut down on my house plants! The orchids are taking over! Fortunately my husband likes orchids.
