No this is not from direct sunlight or it would be turning red. Honestly it just looks like mechanical damage to me. Mechanical damage can occur if plants are bunched or packed too tightly together or if (like in a Nursery) they are placed on sliding tables and the leaves get caught. If this is the cause then removal is not a priority and eventually it will go thru its cycle like any other leaf and fall off naturally. Now if serious bruising starts to show then a surgical strike might be best.
