hahaha...perhaps that "Belimbing" is the same as our "Balimbing" or the star fruit? I never knew orchids liked that tree. My grandma has a number of those trees but somehow all of her orchids were on the chico tree (Manilkara zapota). But they were all Philippine species orchids which were abundant during her time. Perhaps they loved the oppressive shade of the chico. She wouldn't attach too many orchids on her mango tree either. Many think that the mango wood is "sour" or maybe they mean acidic, and they say orchids don't like it either. But my grandma's Dend anosmum thrived on her mango tree for many years.

Yes exactly same plant including Ciku or you called it Chico very delicious and sweet and I like it both of them, most of the orchids they do love this tree including Chico especially Phlaenopsis they get crazy once the plant already established maybe you can try it Angel if you have in your compound.

I don't have the space Zain. But the big chico trees thrive in my grandma's garden. Only my aunt lives there now. It is about five kilometers from my house. Yes you are right. I remember some Phal. aphrodite (I think) growing on that tree, and lots of Pteroceras unguiculatum, and the sweet chico fruit, of course. hahaha. Oh, now I wish I had the space to grow a chico tree.
