Agree/concur.....thick, "large" size bark/fast drying, minimal water retention. I have a hybrid that I used to try to stick the roots back in the pot all the time.......spent HOURS doing it (almost as much time as I COULD spend clicking on "like" for the various posts in these forums :-)

End result: they are now climbing out of the pot, going every which way, and I'm allowing them to do their thing, thereby, saving me many, many hours of precious time

BTW, do NOT assume the pot or media that is with a plant when you get it, are the right ones... Do your own homework unless you purchase from an absolutely trusted seller.
