Family responsibilities have kept me away from this forum and I have missed learning from those of you who kindly share their wonderful knowledge. I saw the first orchid pictured at a box store. The color and texture were rich, dark and unusual. The orchid was not tagged but looking at photographs, I believe it to be Den. Doctor Poyck x Den. Black Cat. The orchid is striking when seen in person.
The second orchid is Paph. Glaucophyllum ('Birchwood x 'Y'). I knew this was a sequential bloomer. When it started blooming, I jokingly said "you bloom for a year and I will post your picture!). It is now 14 months later and it is still blooming with two buds developing. The size and quality of the blooms has decreased over the last few months but I am being "as good as my word."
