I think that I would be going for the light levels and then try anf work out the air movement
hmmm... I would go for air circulation... I seem to have more problems caused by lack of air movement than i do with lack of light...
course, orchids that grow but don't flower isn't very good either, but at least they're not dead....
I had trouble getting my Phals to bloom until I moved them to a really airy site. I am with Bench, air is #1

Cin,
Great post, I will bring a bigger fan back to the growing area. I have a lot of phals way overdue in their bloom cycles.
Thanks,
Trung
Mmmmmmm
70 degree, bouyant, humid air. Making ferns grow everywhere. Mist. Little breezes. Somewhere in the distant 15ft a toucan calls...
I really think that it depends a lot on the type of plants. Phals need cooler, moister - so air movement becomes more important. Catts need light, warmth, dry out between waterings - so light is more important. But they are both needed at the right levels for all the plants What I would want for my "collection" is a room with perfect light for all the different types of plants.
Diane, when you find that perfect room, let me know where you got it please!! I want one too.

LOL!! When I find it, I'm buying the copyright and then start selling on Orchidbids... then get 4 more for my own collection to expand... and then retire ! Orchidworks forum members will get a discount!Originally Posted by Molly Taco
Errr... they are called Environment Chambers... controls temperatures and humidity (you will have to add the fan) but it ain't cheap... I know coz I client brought one in from the States...
but every room is a possible enviro-chamber... you just need a heater, humidifier and a fan... so, there you have it... start spending them dollars... as for me... I'm getting a glasshouse outside.. wooo hooo.... builder coming in on the weekend!!!!
