Something I learned while visiting with Julie and Lisa at Dartmouth is, that an orchid-holic is not truly an obsessive orchid-holic until they have a few dead plants under their belt. Evidently there is a special drawer that one has, where they keep the tags of the dearly departed...some may even make them into fetishes like horsie people do when one of their horses pass on. One thing is evident though and makes perfect sense. When an orchid in your collection dies, that means that there is just one more space for you to put a replacement. True, it isn't quite the same as the one that just passed on...but now at least you don't have to make that difficult decision as to which one of the cats you'll have to kick outside so you can have its space on the windowsill for your plants.

And I'll have my coffe with some Kentucky Bourbon, please! Some Basil Haydens would do as well.
