I love these spotted/spangled/dashed phals. They seem to have started with Wedding Promenade, but I've never seen one with every flower different! WOW. Hope you are going to keiki that one!
Very nice.
Many Phalaenopsis are mass produced and never given name tags. You will find the same issue with dendrobiums as well. To keep track I give them unique nick names. What ever you call this one, it is a beauty!
That is stunning but beyond me how it is possible.
Ha ha.
And I bought it in a supermarket, of all places. So glad I stopped to look at the sad, fallen over afterthoughts that are the usual supermarket orchid offerings.
It's only really just occurring to me now how special it is. I've seen some single-colour blotchy harlequin Phals that have differences on each flower, so it must be similar genes, but this one has random variations in multiple colour elements, making for striking variation.
The flowers are starting to drop now. It will be fun seeing what it does next year...
Just jokin' Delila...I do hope you get some keiki paste and apply it to this beauty!!!!
Isn't the internet a wonderful thing? I knew nothing about keiki paste ... but you mentioned it, so I looked it up, liked the idea, ordered some before I went to bed, and within days I can try it! So cool.![]()
Make sure you search around on the keiki paste threads here...timing is everything and if you misjudge the window, you'll make more flowers instead of a keiki...
