worm tea

I just got some worm tea. Do I just spray the leaves and top roots or pour on plant or both? And howoften? Do I still use miracle grow or stop using other fertilizers while I use worm tea?

Worm tea can be in various concentrations. does it have an indicative NPK written some where in the label?.

More than any trace nutrients such teas may contain (they are usually quite low in N-P-K), it is the microorganisms living in it that are of the most benefit, and it should be used as a fertilizer additive every few weeks, rather than as a substitute.

Assuming the correct ones have populated the liquid, they can parisitize pathogens in the medium and in the plant, and many of them have growth-stimulating hormones as metabolites.

I have been using a manufactured product, Inocucor Garden Solution (out of Canada) for the past couple of years. Unlike worm teas, it has many different beneficial microorganisms that have been crafted into cooperating "consortia" that work together, rather than "fighting it out" for dominance. For all practical purposes, I have seen all rots eliminated in the greenhouse, and I no longer need to use disinfectants routinely as I did in the past.

we have a worm farm and i haven't thought of using the tea on the orchids it would have to be very very weak i would assume as its pretty strong stuff maybe a ppm test will help i will see on thursday my day off maybe a 200 ppm would suit

I did some working out on the worm tea I get from my worm farm here and the full strength tea comes out at about 3000 ppm. So I watered it down to the strength I have my orchid fertiliser which is 600 ppm and it works out at 60 ml per litre that is using tap water here which has a ppm rate of 45 to start with that gives you a ppm of 580. Maybe as an addition to your water between fertilising you would want it weaker as i said before about 200 ppm then 20 ml per litre would do
