Vanda Rhctm. Lilac Blue

Hi there I have recently gotten a vanda, Rhctm. Lilac Blue but it was in a little plastic basket set in a pot with stone and coals, the roots are healthy and strong but I would like to know if that is like a mokara, do the roots hang really long should I leave it in the clay pot or take it out and hang it up

If it were mine I would take it out of pot and let bare roots hang. It would depend on environment I guess. If kept in basket I would make sure there are spaces between rocks so that the roots are allowed air.

Rhynchocentrum = Ascocentrum x Rhynchostylis. In my opinion, Both would do great in open basket. but Rhynchostylis resents repotting so care to repot when new roots or growing

I do have another orchid a mokara which I put in a wire basket lined with coconut husks, the medium is stones, coals and some coconut husks chipped up, it has been like that for about four years now and has flowered about five times since and there is a spike on it right now, the roots are all out of the basket at least lots of them and that is why I was wondering if to do the same with this one, I want to give the roots lots of room so I think I will take it out of the clay pot...it has not rooted on that pot but it still is in the plastic one, the person from whom I got it said it does not grow tall, it has flowered once already so I am waiting for a bloom

I potted the vanda into a wire basket it is growing very well new roots showing too.
