and some more...
because we still have subzero temperatures in the night my mom covers the bloom every evening with a sheet of plastic. That is dedication!
I love spring bulbs. Yay spring!!!!
Beautiful! Still have some time before anything here awakens.
So pretty! They are so vibrant!
How interesting ; I would have thought that since Romania is at least 6 degrees further south than the south coast of England, where I live,Spring would be a few weeks earlier . Not so it seems. My first daffodils have long since had their seed heads cut off, the aconites have finished, celandines ( ranunculus ficaria are out in the hedgerows, also primroses ; several early flowering trees and shrubs - Rhodedendrons, Sophora macrophylla 'Golden King' and so on are opening there first flowers, mimosa is over, Camellias getting past it, and so on. Presumably the difference is the Gulf Stream which brings warm water from the Caribbean around our coasts.
Exactly Geoff. We have temperate continental weather and this December we even had a few weeks of minus 10 to 20 degrees Celsius which is quite rare in the west of Romania where the weather is milder due to the protection of the Carpathian mountains.
Great shots Andrea! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful photos, Andrea. I love the purple, yellow, and blue colors! Below are the first of our spring blooms.
Cheers,
