FYI photos of Phal crown rot and normal leaf loss
Sometimes people come and ask if their Phal has crown rot or if the leaf loss is normal. I have a Phal with crown rot at the moment and one losing a leaf, so I thought I'd post pictures for comparison. When I have a problem I'm always looking for pictures of similar problems to compare to, so here goes!
The top picture shows a normal leaf loss, where the bottom leaf is old, turns yellow and drops off. The bottom picture is the crown rot, its already lost one leaf in the middle, now two more are going. I don't expect it to survive, fortunately its just a store rescue and not a big investment. I hope the pictures are useful to others!
