Phal - leaves fell off after repotting

I took my strong, healthy mama to the local nursery to have her repotted, thinking it was smarter and safer than me doing it. I had her over 2 years, and she was VERY happy (kei kei, flowering, new leaf growth all in the past year).
I got her back from the nursery about 3 weeks ago and 2 of her 5 leaves fell off. I thought it was just from trauma or maybe they cut a couple too many roots. Then, the others all fell off, too. Now I'm stuck with a leafless orchid - the leaves all seemed REALLY saturated, as if they had too much water (which might make sense, because the nursery took her from bark to a moss/lava rock/bark media).

Anyway, I've never had to save an orchid that was this far gone, but I'm not willing to give up hope just yet (she was my first of 7, and I've repotted plenty on my own - none with this much trauma. How, very specifically (like I'm a really stupid 5 year old) do I save her? Thank you

Looks like crown rot. Is that sphag moss it was potted in? Is the nursery an orchid knowledgeable place?

Water was allowed to collect in the crevices between the leaf and stem and up at the top of the stem.

Unfortunately, you should look at this as a learning opportunity. Use a paper towel or napkin to dry the stem/leaf intersections if you get water in them. But it sounds like the nursery had the orchid for some time from your post. And it is likely they rotted it, if I am getting it right.

Sorry but i concur with Harvey, mother plant is lost.
You can unpot it and see if roots still ok and repot them back in bark and hope if it can give you basal keiki. Treat the crown with fingicide or cinnamon. But im afraid its too far gone to hope for keiki.
You mentioned plant had keiki. Is it still viable? Does it has roots? You can pot it in bark so you will have tou plant back

In addition to the excellent advice above, I recommend avoiding that nursery for future orchid-related "expertise".

A nursery, in general, will know little to nothing about orchids. My local high end nursery sells some really nice orchids, but they rent out space to an orchid grower who sells his thru them. But don't ask anyone there an orchid question. They have no idea of an answer. When I was buying my Cynoches Wine Jem, they thought it was dead since it was leafless. I knew it was just dormant.

The keiki is happy growing in it's own pot. I transplanted it about 2 months ago and it's doing well.

No kidding. They *do* specialize in orchids, but I'm never going there to have one repotted again. I cannot believe they killed her...

I checked the roots today. There was not one that was even a little bit viable.

Sorry that happened but so glad that you at least got a keiki. I have seen people pot the crown way too deep where it was going to stay saturated.
