The flower needs to be as fresh as possible. If you want to pollinate it, forget about squeezing those last joyous moments from the bloom - it may not take.

Those Frakenstein dreams of glory may not be destined for greatness. If the chromosome count of the genera you wish to cross don't match, you're exercising your finger or whatever for naught. That's why we don't have LaelioPaphidiums. Choose carefully, or don't hold your breath!
