Depending on how often you water will determine how often you fertilize. Being in a hot humid location I am sure that if your orchids are outside that you are watering about every 2-3 days, you might have some orchids that need to be watered everyday, I am not sure as I don't know what you have. A good lesson on fertilizing is during the spring and summer when your orchid is growing and producing new roots you should fertilize at least once a week. Some will fertilize at a real low dosage every time they water some won't. Just make sure you wash out any salts that are in the media before you fertilize again if you only fertilize weekly. Being in south Florida there are times I am lucky to fertilize because of all the rain we get, for example I have not been able to fertilize for almost 2 weeks now because of the daily showers we have been getting, I now check the forecast hoping for a dry day so that I can get out and fertilize. As the growing season is coming to an end I will only fertilize every 2 weeks at a lower dosage then I regularly use until the start of our spring which usually is in March or April. Starting after Halloween there are some species I will not fertilize nor water regularly until I see new growth in the spring.
There is so much information on the internet about how to care for your orchids, it can get confusing because everyone has there own idea on what to do, it comes down to you making your own decision. You can read up on the subject then decide what is best for you, I am always open to trying things differently but it comes down to what I see my orchids telling me that they like, don't worry they will let you know what they like.

There seems to be a bit of green developing at the base of the sheath. I am hoping it will still produce buds. Should have asked the grower how long the sheaths have been like that. You live and learn.
