What's wrong with my orchid

Hi I have been growing orchids for only 2-3 years. But the last couple of months my phals having been have disfigured leaves. Now my vandas blooms either die or the stak dries up before it even bloom. It's been a frustrating few months. A friend of mine recommend this site. I am excited about joining because I really need some help.could this be a virus?

Can you possibly post a picture of the orchids and show their problems? That is the only real way for us to provide possible solutions to what the issue may be. Remember that an image can be no larger than 700 pixels on the biggest side. Then use the Picture Frame which is the image attachment tool.

This sounds more like a problem with mites or thrips than a virus, but we do need pictures to be sure of anything.

Welcome from Cooper City, just up the road. Pictures are almost a necessity when trying to get an answer to this specific a question. We have a great environment for growing orchids and if proper care is given you should not have any problems with succeeding.

I've had my Phals have some damage due to scale, you might want to look under the leaves for the little flat brownish spots. If they rub off, they are likely scale. Otherwise my Phals have been pretty problem free, so I don't have much experience to offer there. Good luck!
