I got this Phal in the summer. It was one of three from my first online order when I expressed my unhappiness with the bad condition they were in. All three were packed tight in moss and have had problems since. I was only able to get them to look a little happier by putting them back in moss and keeping them moist.
I was surprised when this Phal schilleriana decided to spike since it has had no interest in growing new roots and it is running on only a few flat, deformed roots. It did grow a new leaf. Only 5 buds on the spike and two of them opened yesterday. I love the flowers. I hope with more time and growing it will make a nice show.
Its tag says its a cross between Fragrant butterfly and Pink butterfly - I think without checking.

Very beautiful species.
Nicely done!

Very beautiful schilleriana. It would flower better as it matures.
Very pretty
Great job! It's a keeper!
All five precious flowers are open now. It also has a very faint fragrance this morning. I really like this phal.

I am not a big fan of phals like I was 4 years ago but when I see shots like this one that is so beautiful, I start thinking well maybe it is time to look at them once more.the Ft. Lauderdale Orchid Festival is this weekend and then the next weekend is Taimiami, I just might see what is available!
It's a lovely photo Karin, of a classic beauty!
