    Smile Trichocentrum carthagenense

    This is the second time this has bloomed for me. Though I will admit since I have had it, it has become only half the height that it was when it first came to the asylum. The mule-ear Oncidium leaves are now about 6 inches tall and the spike is also shorter and less flowers. But I am satisfied. It has grown well otherwise and has 6 new growths this year growing. It sports about 25 blooms.

    It is a rather small flower but still quite pretty.

    I water 2x a week, Saturday and Tuesday. I use 1/4 teaspoon/gallon of K-Lite fertilizer at every watering during the growing season Feb- Oct. It lives under a T5 light bank of 8 tubes, 4 feet long.

    It is in need of a repot and will get it once the bloom cycle is completed. I actually counted 7 new growths last night on this guy. Not the 6 that I reported above. All in all, a happy orchid.

    Very nice! I picked up one on Saturday that is very similar called Lophiaris lanceana. Hope it does as well as your plant.
