in bloom. There is another bud ready to open but thought I'd ask my question now. The pale spotting and streaking. I believe it is a cultural issue but what is that issue? The parent does not have this and its not earwigs this time Thank you for any opinions.

Good job blooming it. I had one time and it was just too dry of an environment to grow well here.

Thank you Harvey. I think you're right. Had a hard time keeping it watered with the heat we've been having. The buds took 3 months to develop from when I 1st noticed them. A lot can go wrong in that much time.

I think the issue could simply be heat and drought stress. It looks like this could be a real stunner on a good blooming.

That's what I think as well Kirk. Things are better now but with three months of very high temps and little rain keeping up with watering had become a full time job. When you miss a day (happened twice) the plants really show it. The parent plant is gorgeous. I forgot to add the AOS award to the picture. I'd love to get it to this point!

I would agree with Harvey and Kirk, with the heat and lack of rain you had this summer, that is more then likely what the cause is. If you get yours to be like the second picture you would get a gold star and go to the head of the class!

Believe it or not I think the grower told me it was in a 4" pot in this photo. It was taken shortly before he divided it. It would be nice to get the leaves as healthy as this one.

A beautiful clone! I agree with Kirk. At first I thought it could be thrips but since only the sepals and a bit of the tips of the petals are affected I have to agree with Kirk.
