Dew on Cattleya's

The pictures don't really capture it well but each morning the Catt. leaves are covered in dew. The roots look dry but they've been sucking it up through the night. All the watering they need right now.The weather has been perfect with 70ish days and 55 nights. The sun is low in the sky now so very minimal shading. The group shot is about 1/3 of them. Have to fit them all back in the house very soon. Just hope the new growth and sheaths don't suffer too much.

Nice. All mine came in this week. Only the Cym will go back outside in a couple days when this cold snap passes.

I have 5 Cym Harvey. Every year a different one flowers. I've always brought them in about now. I'm leaving them outside unless there are frost warnings this year. Their to dang big so if they don't behave this time, its going to be a very cold 2017-18 winter.

I am in the same place. But I have but one, and it is becoming a beast. I repotted it this summer and it didn't miss a beat. Contrary to reputation of being finicky having roots messed with.

I do have 2 other Cyms. But they are warm growing species Cyms. The Cym bicolor is now growing its second new fan of the year. Making a total of 4 fans. I hear it needs a minimum of 4 to bloom.

Hmm' didn't know there were warm growers. My last post read's as if I have all of them flower. I have two dwarf types that have not. Hope I'm not doing something I shouldn't.

I take it they are NoID's?

The bicolor is definitely warm to hot grower (IOSPE). My other, Cym dayanum, is a hot to cool grower.

Two have ID's but not the dwarfs. I picked them up for a couple of buck in one of those online local private sales sites. One is supposed to be pink and the other white. That's all I know besides the fact that both have leaves under 1' long.
