Default Grocery store Phal stuartiana ?

I got this more than a year ago when it was marked down half price at the grocery store. It had mottled leaves and a couple of almost faded blossoms shown when I posted it last year. Based on the old blossom I decided that it resembles stuartiana. The poor plant has been through it. It got sunburned last summer when it simply could not tolerate the 70% shade cloth. Then it has been attacked by scale and mealies. But, it has produced a spike with 7 blossoms.

Well done Karin. The good thing about the grocery store bit would be that it would be priced just like a typical grocery store phally ( shop phallies, as we 'experts' are apt to say , in a superior fashion ) ; whereas it is really "worth" far more. A good buy !

I saw it when shopping, not really knowing that it was a stuartiana, but I noticed the mottled leaves which I usually don't see at the grocery store. I didn't buy it then but kept thinking about it. I only go to town about every other week so when I went back two weeks later I looked for it and it was still there. The blossoms were beginning to wilt so I asked the floral manager if she was considering marking it down. She did - down to about $5 if I remember. I commented that I liked the leaves. She said it was just hard water marks and I just agreed with her being happy about the price, afraid that if I said anything she would change her mind about the price. I only figured out what it was after I got it home and did some searching.
