When I was at the Mid Atlantic Orchid shindig recently, people were going batsh*t over those huge, dinner plate vandas because you just don't see them much around here. Floridians hate them to pieces, if I'm not mistaken.I think it is neat how diferent people from diferent areas are really accustomed to certain types of orchids. That's an excellent point. The "novelty effect" goes a long way...
Hi,
I'd love to get one like that and also deep red Miltonias. Any helpful ideas.
I'm located in south central PA.

I look forward to hearing about what you grow and how you grow it. So, jump over to the introductions board and post your hello and introduction. And get your post count up above 5 so we can PM you the links you request.

Very nice Milt! I love them, but they are challenging to grow. In addition to cooler temps, they need good humidity, especially as they set their spikes and open their flowers. If they dont get enough, the flowers may not open all the way. That's happened on several of mine. So more northern climes are cooler, but don't forget the humidity!
Mark, I can PM you some good on-line sources for Milts once you're able to PM. Welcome!
Julie
While looking for just that orchid, I found your post. A friend gave me one, but I let it dry out. Would like to replace it for her.
Very pretty!
Helga.
