Looks like Laelia purpurata Monica. Unless its a hybrid with a lot of that species in it.
I was agree with the laelia possibility.
I would not hesitate to label this Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata. The petal stripes might make it forma striata, or maybe f. flammea or f. venosa. You'd have to find a Brazilian expert to get an opinion on that. There is a slight chance it is a hybrid, but I think it would have to be 3/4 or more C. purpurata or involve a closely related type like C. crispa or C. lobata. Given how common and popular it is the pure species is more likely unless you remember having that kind of hybrid.
I can't answer that question, but there are many very erudite orchid growers in this forum, i think as can be seen from the answers above.

It certainly looks like a form of Cattleya purpurata.

To echo PaphMadMan, it looks like L. purpurate var striata or flammea.
Cattleya (Laelia) purpurata, probably f. striata, as previously suggested. Beautiful flower.
