I agree with you. Unless this plant has some history or sentimental value, a replacement Phalaenopsis is easy to come buy at any large box stores.

There is an important lesson to learn regarding the demise of this plant. When it was last watered, water collected at the stem of the plant, it stayed too long, temperature dropped and caused crown rot. This happens to many monopodial plants like Phalaenopsis and Vanda.
